The Integration Trap: The Generation Gap, Caused By A Choice Between Two Cultures,
is a speech delivered in London at the Centerprise Bookstore. This speech shows how the powerful forces such as de-industrialization, drugs, gentrification and assassination of Black leadership has played out against African people globally, in the Caribbean (Jamaica), Africa and Europe. T’Shaka shows how Structural Adjustment a policy carried out by the International Monetary Fund, stripped Africa and much of the Caribbean of much of the control of their economies while nearing destroying a formerly free educational and health care system, while big U.S., and European corporations gained control of African and caribbean resources.
These hostile external forces have weakened African and Caribbean families, communities and economies in much the same way they have weakened African American families and communities. Dr. T’Shaka shows how African and African American culture can be combined with effective economic and political organizing to empower African people globally.
